Ampersand Artists Canvas Texture Cradled Panels are quality painting panels that combine the familiar feel of primed canvas with the stability and durability of a rigid support. Featuring a medium-textured, non-absorbent surface, these 1?” (approx. 4cm) deep cradled panels are ideal for oil painting, acrylic painting, casein, cold wax techniques, mixed media and paint pouring.
Ampersand’s Canvas Texture Artist Panels are designed for artists who enjoy the look and feel of traditional canvas but want the advantages of a solid painting surface. The medium-textured acrylic gesso ground closely resembles fine linen or canvas, making the transition from stretched canvas seamless while eliminating concerns about sagging, flexing or surface movement over time.
The rigid MDF support provides excellent strength for demanding techniques such as palette knife work, heavy-bodied paint applications, glazing, and paint pouring. This makes the panels particularly popular with artists who prefer a stable surface that can withstand repeated layering and reworking.
The 1?” deep cradled construction offers additional rigidity and creates a gallery-style presentation, allowing finished artwork to be displayed without the need for framing if desired.
